Media.... Dare to....

Disclaimer: Well, I googled for “Disclaimer” and it read something like this.. Law a statement denying knowledge of something”. So whatever s*** I talk, u r not supposed to shout out. And therz nothing humorous in this post. Keep away if you are xpecting one.

I respect media and adore them for bringing out the truth. Unfortunately, I have to think twice when I try to repeat the same statement by prefixing media with the word Indian. Doesn’t matter what the medium is.. Print, Television, Web…. Really vexed up with the coverage they give to unnecessary news. In fact, we can’t even call it a news but rather the media creates news out of anything.

Recently I saw an article on a so called Andhra website with a tag line Dare to Write. The title of the article read “Ramesh Prasad’s Angry With Rajamouli?”.(Don’t worry abt who Prasad or Rajamouli is, keep in mind they are high profile celebrities.) Fine… for any layman like me, it sounds as if there might be some misunderstanding between Ramesh Prasad and Rajamouli and the question mark at the end indicates that these website guys are doubtful abt the reason behind that. Great… now read this article…

It is natural to wonder why the soft spoken, reserved, controversy free head of Prasad groups, Ramesh Prasad is very furious with Rajamouli.

Well, if a person as important as the heart to the group is being sent away, who would not be furious. There is no one in the industry who doesn’t know about Nagineedu, the man who works in Prasad Labs. The work of the Hyderabad unit happens under the monitoring of Nagineedu and it is heard that his only desire in life is to become an actor. Nagineedu is a distant relative to Ramesh Prasad. Though he has the urge to act, it is heard that due to the hectic work at the Labs, he has been killing his desire. However, he did act in one Tamil film and it is now said that Rajamouli saw that and roped in Nagineedu for an important character in his new film ‘Maryada Ramanna’.

Though Sunil’s character is titled ‘Ram’, the buzz is that Nagineedu has got the title character. Doing a small role in Rajamouli film is a great recognition so one can imagine what happens when one does a title role. So, the chances are that Nagineedu might get quite busy with offers once ‘Maryada Ramanna’ releases.(wow!!.. wat an optimistic media) This will compel him to move out of the Prasad Labs and definitely, Ramesh Prasad cannot get another Nagineedu in a short span.

That’s why, many are talking that though he may not express his displeasure in open, he would surely be miffed with Rajamouli from inside.

Hell with that question mark… these guys actually concluded that Mr Prasad would surely be miffed with Rajamouli. The film is not released yet, no one knows the potential of Nagineedu as an actor, doesn’t know if his character gets the recognition, doesn’t know if he really be flooded with offers that he might get away from Prasad labs. But this f***ked up media reaches to a conclusion with some dumb logical explanation which always includes hell lot of mays and mights. Keep in mind that I’m not trying to promote or demote the film. Thatz a different ball game.

The same day I read another article about anchor Jhansi. If you watch telugu channels this is a fairly popular household name. The article titled “Jhansi’s 'Rendo Pelli' Soon?”(Jhansi’s second marriage soon). Fine… she has broke up with her husband long back and shez getting ready for a second marriage. Keeping aside if this is true or not, considering itz totally her personal life, what is the need to describe her body structure in the article. Thatz disgusting guys.

Now, this one is from a TV show.. a special show for Half an hour in prime time. “బోనీ కపూర్ పై విరుచుకుపడిన రాం గోపాల్ వర్మ”(Ram Gopal Varma is furious about Boney Kapoor)…..well, the only mistake RGV has done is to express his feelings about Sridevi in his personal blog. An excerpt from his blog:

So, straight from her super stardom and magazine covers and her dazzling beauty on the silver screen, I saw her in Boney’s house serving tea like an ordinary housewife. I hated Boney Kapoor for bringing that angel from heaven down to being just an ordinary housewife.

And quoting the above paragraph this channel was confident enuf to say that RGV is not at all happy with Boney Kapoor because hez not allowing Sridevi to act. Perfect. And this lasted for half an hour with the anchor providing as many (il)logical reasons as possible to prove the statement authentic. Awesome!! And obviously they never mentioned the previous line - The woman who the men of the entire nation desired was suddenly left all alone in the world till Boney Kapoor stepped in to fill the vacuum.

I can quote hell lot of such examples. But I was just wondering, don’t you think the soul purpose of media is to bring out the truth and infuse some social awareness among people? Or may be I’m dumb enuf to think like that. Jai ho… media.

Not over yet. I wud like to bore u some more by pointing this quotes for u.

“We can't quite decide if the world is growing worse, or if the media is just working harder at it.”

“The media no longer ask those who know something to share that knowledge with the public. Instead they ask those who know nothing to represent the ignorance of the public and, in so doing, to legitimate it.” – Anonymous (An example for this are the cricket reviews. Every damn channel has their own specialist panel who pour out their cricketing wisdom to us.)

“The public have an insatiable curiosity to know everything. Except what is worth knowing. Journalism, conscious of this, and having tradesman-like habits, supplies their demands.” --Oscar Wilde

“People everywhere confuse what they read in newspapers with news.” -- Abbott Joseph Liebling

So guys.. news is not always news. I-believe-what-I-see kinda stuff is long gone coz I guarantee you, media can manipulate even ur senses.

Good one,..u didn't speak about politics with media. Each news paper in India to establish them self publish biased new for political parties... And the if some one Die or got rapped in the streets... then its like a festival for media...No real NEWS for Indian. Today July 10 - Silence Day. Its better to be Silent and make use of common sense and inteligence to understand such logical and unrealistic pathetic news (??) by media.
